Alvarius

Alvarius is a neuroscientific pharmaceutical company developing therapeutics for diseases of addiction and demyelination. We use both traditional and psychedelic medicine in our scientific development programme in efforts to discover novel therapeutics to help both veterans and civilians who are struggling with these debilitating and life changing diseases. Our aim is to change how these conditions are treated for the better. We are currently seeing a focus on the use of psychedelic medicine to treat many neurological and chronic conditions as we have witnessed that psychedelics offer the opportunity to study these changes in the cells reliably at the molecular level. This could help us understand what is required from a neurobiological standpoint to achieve different states of consciousness. Our clinical research programme for addiction is focused on 5-Methoxy- Dimethyltryptamine (5-Meo- DMT), a compound is a psychedelic of the tryptamine class. It is found in a wide variety of plant species, and also is secreted by the glands of at least one toad species, the Colorado River toad. This psychedelic has been utilised for many years, having been first synthesized in 1936 and according to Forbes reporter is transforming lives.
