Advanced Level Youth Empowerment Foundation (ALYE) is a Non-governmental organisation dedicated to poverty alleviation through youth empowerment. According to a 2018 survey conducted by the National Bureau of Statistics, 23.1% of the Nigerian population are unemployed and of this figure, 36.5% are youths (aged 18-35) which amounts to 40 million individuals who are in their prime but have no work opportunities.
It is widely known that Nigeria is a resource-rich country. Beyond those that are natural on the continent of Africa, Nigeria has a large population of able youths who, for reasons beyond their control, do not have access to opportunities that could transform their lives. ALYE aims to bridge this gap.
Our purpose is to tackle these high unemployment figures and opportunity gaps through the provision of programmes that are multi-purposed to upskill recent graduates by preparing them for life as career professionals or as successful entrepreneurs; reduce the number of under 30s not in employment/entrepreneurship, education, or training (NEETs) in Nigeria; and to further enhance the contributions of young people for the betterment of the country.
ALYE equips young people through our offerings which include: mentorship, training in professionalism and business basics, networking opportunities, work placements and funding for either a business venture of a work placement.
