Amazon Promise is a U.S.-based, global health, non-profit organization founded to provide desperately needed medical and dental care to remote populations living in the Upper Amazon Basin of Northeastern Peru. Our Peruvian operations are headquartered in the jungle city of Iquitos where we provide medical services, cervical cancer screening and treatment, and health education to its residents and neighboring Belen. Additionally, since 1993 we have conducted routine medical outreach clinics, training, and education in 32 remote mestizo and indigenous communities. Programs to install rainwater catchment systems for clean water, and composting toilets for improved sanitation in the remote communities we serve began in 2013. Our Iquitos office is open throughout the year to receive patients arriving from remote jungle communities and provide follow-up and ongoing medical care to those in need.
