The Amazon Protection Foundation is a purpose driven & not-for-profit organisation designed to fight global warming, climate change, poverty and deforestation in the Amazon Rainforest.
After decades of history protecting the Amazon Rainforest and promoting the sustainable development of traditional local communities, EBCF (Brazilian Rainforest Conservation Company) has established the Amazon Protection Foundation as a privately funded 501(c) (3) not-for-profit foundation arm of its structure. It focuses on EBCF core mission by supporting the creation of new protected Sustainable Reserves and Conservation Units as well as offsetting CO2 emissions whilst improving the livelihood of traditional local communities.
The Amazon Protection Rainforest is proud to be partners of the We Are Amazonians global sustainability program implemented within EBCF's sustainable reserves and its local communities.
Our global sustainability program is completely aligned within the United Nations’ Sustainable Development goals.
OUR MISSION:
To promote and monetise the conservation of the Amazon Rainforest, through eco-services and business related activities. Thus, we ensure the creation of Sustainable Protected Reserves and Conservation Units, Amazon Rainforest conservation, biodiversity protection (fauna/flora/rivers), sustainable development of traditional local communities, and offsetting of CO2 emissions.
OUR VISION:
The Amazon Rainforest is known as "the Lungs of the World", the destruction of its biodiversity represents the extinction of Humankind (Leonardo Barrionuevo - Chairman).
We understand that non-for-profit organizations must join forces with individuals, the private sector and governments in order to fight Global Warming, Climate Change, Poverty and Deforestation, in the Amazon Rainforest.
