Amazon Research Consortium for Climate Change and One Health

The Amazon Research Consortium for Climate Change and One Health (ARC) is dedicated to addressing the critical challenges posed by climate and environmental change impacting human and animal health in the Amazon and across Latin America. Our mission is to share climate, environmental, and health research that informs innovative strategies to reduce disease burden and build resilience in communities and watersheds across the Amazon and beyond. ARC unites experts from universities, government agencies, NGOs, and other institutions, fostering multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional, and cross-cultural collaborations. Together, we tackle pressing issues such as infectious diseases, malnutrition, cervical cancer, land use changes, chemical exposures, and wildfires. Our vision is to be a transformative force, equipping health professionals, researchers, and local communities with the knowledge and tools to build a sustainable, resilient future. Through our commitment to integrating science with community wisdom, capacity building, community engagement, and cutting-edge research, ARC drives innovation and preparedness in the face of climate change.
