Amazonas State University (UEA) is a public, degree-granting, satellite campus university associated with the Amazonas State Government. UEA was reformed by State Law n° 2.637, on January 12th, 2001, which turned the University of Technology of Amazonas (UTAM), established by State Law n° 2.540, on January 18th, 1973, into UEA.
Currently, it offers more than 80 undergraduate programs, and is situated across 17 cities within the state of Amazonas. It also offers 108 lato sensu graduate programs (Specialization courses), and 20 stricto sensu postgraduate programs: 15 master’s courses and 5 doctorates.
It has 5 schools in the state capital (Manaus) and 12 higher education centers in various cities. There are more than 20,000 regular students in the undergraduate and graduate programs combined.
