Ambulance Professionals First is a subdivision of First Union and is the most respected union of Ambulance Professionals across New Zealand. Our National Ambulance Coordinator and local organisers in each region are supported by a strong delegate structure, three full-time lawyers, a campaign team, and a research department.
We have an established working relationship with both Hato Hone St John Ambulance and Wellington Free Ambulance and have negotiated management and operational Collective Agreements with them in which we protect and build on the terms and conditions of employment.
First Union is a member of the New Zealand Council of Trade Unions and the Australasian Council of Ambulance Unions.
We campaign around the issues that really matter, such as staff and patient welfare, adequate funding, and career paths within the service.
We provide regular email communication to all members.
Our organisers and delegates have regular meetings with key stakeholders to ensure that any issues are raised and resolved as they arise.
