American Gear & Engineering, Inc. was started in 1985 and over the years has developed an outstanding reputation with over sixty (60) years of gear cutting experience behind it. We offer specialties in gear manufacturing of all types. We have vast experience in such problem areas as: • Gear Wear • Gear or Rack replacement • Manufacturing new replacements parts from worn-out samples Another specialty of American Gear is the ability to manufacture machine repair parts from samples, regardless of the condition of the sample. We will re-engineer the part and keep a drawing on file for any future needs that may arise. We also offer over-night service for the repair or replacement of critical parts. In many instances, this ability to offer overnight service has saved thousands of dollars for our customers when the broken gear is from a production machine. American Gear is determined to be the best in its field. To ensure this, we have recently expanded our facility from 14,000 to over 25,000 square feet. In addition to this expansion, we have added CNC Turning Machines, an 80" Large Bullard VTL, and a complete slotting department to complement our milling and grinding departments. We now have the ability to cut internal keyways, splines, squares, and many other internal shapes, in-house. Our goal is to better control quality, lead-time and costs for our customers. The above wide array of tool room equipment compliments our vast inventory of Gear machinery. We can Hob from 1/8" Diameter to 100" O.D. Our Gleason capabilities go to 36" in O.D. down to 1 DP stub. American Gear can satisfy all of your gearing needs, and offer many other services such as, Turning, I.D. & O.D. Grinding, and Slotting. We can virtually machine almost anything you may need, including rebuilding gearboxes.
