We are a team of Master's students from the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at TU Delft. Currently, the team is assembling a Van's RV-12 kit aircraft in a dedicated space inside the faculty's laboratory, using the knowledge we've gained during studies. Consecutive teams are assembling the aircraft, and in a few years it will be finished and ready for flight!
The project started in 2017 and aims to link the theoretical knowledge from the classroom to actual practices in the industry. The regulations and quality standards in the aerospace engineering domain are very strict, and this project allows students to experience them first hand. There is a very strong focus on the quality of the finished product to match aircraft industry standards, meaning a lot of inspections are executed.
The ultimate goal of the project is to provide the students with a better education on aircraft manufacturing, and deliver a safely flying aircraft.
