Amp Your Good’s crowd-feeding platform radically changes and improves how food drives work. Our goal is to change the way people think about food drives so we’ve re-imagined them using the same sharing economy principles as Uber, AirBnB and others to make a difference in the lives of those struggling with hunger. Similar to crowdfunding, people and organizations set up food drives hosted on our platform at no cost. However, instead of donating money, supporters choose the food items they would like to donate and pay for them via a standard e-commerce purchase. When a drive ends, we deliver all of the food directly to the food pantry, soup kitchen or shelter supported by the drive. Nothing ever sits in a collection box. Here are a couple of highlights: Transparency - We make it as easy to donate food as it is to donate money so people know exactly how they are helping out. Impact - people can donate fresh produce items and other high impact food items rather than traditional canned goods, which are oftentimes the least nutritious food. More food! Drives raise more food on our platform and every donation counts due to our “wedding registry” feature. Our vision is to turn the billions of canned goods donated to food drives each year into billions of apples, bananas, carrots, sweet potatoes and other healthy food items.
