Studies consistently point to negative health outcomes from sedentary lifestyles, with an increased likelihood of high blood pressure, heart disease and obesity, as well as poor musculoskeletal outcomes. ‘Sitting is the new smoking’ might seem dramatic, but it draws media attention to the problem.
