About Amplify Fund
Amplify Fund envisions a reality where historically marginalized people and communities maintain and build decision-making power toward generational wealth, land justice, holistic well-being, and human dignity. To make progress towards this vision, the Amplify Fund has two goals: 1. To nurture and strengthen the conditions necessary for historically marginalized people to maintain and build decision-making power, and 2. To shift where, to whom, and how philanthropy provides support. The vision and goals are undergirded by a set of values, and the Fund is held accountable to these by the Co-Leadership Committee, composed of grantees and funders. As a place-focused, pooled fund, Amplify Fund does grantmaking in eight places: Missouri, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, and California through a partnership with the Fund for an Inclusive California. We selected the following places for our grantmaking because of the exciting power building work led by historically marginalized communities; the presence of power building groups focused on generational wealth, land justice, holistic well-being, and human dignity; the relative absence of national philanthropy; and, the potential to mobilize local philanthropic dollars In each place, we follow the guidance of local advisors, and the wisdom of those with lived-experience, to develop context-specific strategies. Based on the direction of a committee of Amplify Fund grantees, the Fund has committed to continuing for the next 10 years and has set an ambitious goal of raising $100M to advance the vision and goals. For funders and donors with shared values and goals, we welcome you to join us in changing the status quo in philanthropy. For more information please contact Amplify@nfg.org
