The American Society of São Paulo is a civil, non-profit association founded on May 10, 1950. The Society is led by a Board of up to 20 dedicated volunteers. The day to day activities is managed by an office manager. There are four executive positions; President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary; the President must be an American citizen.
AmSoc promotes friendship by organizing social, cultural, and athletic events for its diverse membership; encourages integration with the Brazilian society; and supports the American traditions of education, philanthropy and volunteerism.
