Anahat Foundation

Anahat works to improve access to affordable, quality primary and preventive healthcare. Our Primary Health Programme is anchored at the Anahat Clinic in Shanthinagar, Bengaluru, where we offer free consultation with a qualified doctor (MBBS), 100+ medicines as per Government of India and WHO guidelines, and 70+ diagnostic lab tests. We also conduct medical camps across the city in partnership with other organisations, taking free primary health into communities. Anahat's Preventive Health Programme focuses on non-communicable diseases and mental health. Through Prerna, we help patients manage chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension, integrating social and clinical interventions in a group setting over 3 months. Patients learn about the causes of their disease and also receive medication, lab testing and follow up doctor consultations to track their progress. Through weekly workshops, we help patients improve diet and nutrition, manage stress and incorporate exercise into their daily lives, which in turn have an exponential positive impact on their disease burden. Ananda, Anahat's mental health programme offers free counselling with a qualified in-house counsellor. In partnership with Mental Health Action Trust (MHAT), we also offer free psychiatric care and medication at the Anahat Clinic for patients with severe mental illnesses and those struggling with issues like addiction. Most recently, we partnered with Foundation for Arts and Health in India (FAHI) to pilot Aaraama at the Anahat Clinic for women - creating a space for relaxation, enjoyment and fun without judgement using the arts as a tool for recreation and self-expression. Anahat won the Bronze Prize at SVP India's Fast Pitch 2024. We were also awarded the Namma Bengaluru Challenge grant in December 2024.
