Anambra State Materials Testing Laboratory is an innovation and a strong determination of the Anambra State Government to abate incidences of buildings/infrastructure failure or and collapse with its attendant loss of lives, property and capital resources. His Excellency, Chief (Dr) Willie Obiano, the Executive Governor of Anambra state commissioned the Anambra State Materials Testing Laboratory on the 27th day of June 2014. This Ultra-modern laboratory is to test all building and civil engineering materials for standard. Such tests include the following : . Soil Mechanics. . Sub-soil Investigation . Aggregate, Cement, Water and Chemical Test. . Test on Concrete, Blocks, Bricks, Ceramics, Roofing Sheets, Wood & Refractory Products. . Test on Asphaltic Concrete (Bituminous Road). . Test on Steel Reinforcements, round and flat bars. . Calibration of all test Equipment/Registration (Private Independent Laboratory). . Certification of Installed Lightning/Thunder Arrestors on Structures and Telecommunication Mast.
