Anam Cara | NG

Anamcara_NG is a mental health initiative concerned with providing a safe space for learning, sharing, and enlightening people about mental illness and other aspects of mentality. The term “Anam Cara” is Gaelic for “a soul friend”. A person with whom one’s deepest and most intimate feelings, thoughts, wishes and desires, dreams and goals can be shared. Anam Cara was created with these words in mind, with the hopes that it becomes a safe space for everyone who is struggling, seeking information, or in need of comfort. Based in Lagos, Nigeria but aiming to impact the world, Anamcara_NG hopes to increase mental health awareness while taking steps to reduce stigma faced by individuals living with mental illness.
