Ananta Mitra Foundation (Infinite Sunlight, Endless Illumination & Guidance). Mitra (मित्र) means "Friend", but in Vedic texts, it is also a name for the Sun God (Surya)". Mitra is associated with light, warmth, truth, and life-giving energy. At Ananta Mitra Foundation, we believe that skills are the catalyst for unlocking human potential, enabling economic independence, and igniting meaningful social transformation. Our mission is to bridge opportunity gaps by providing innovative, accessible, and industry-relevant skilling programs to underserved communities across India. At Ananta Mitra Foundation, our mission is rooted in creating lasting impact across three core verticals: Skilling & Livelihoods, Environment & Sustainability, and Healthcare & Wellbeing. Through our skilling initiatives, we empower individuals—especially women, youth, and marginalized groups—with vocational, technical, and entrepreneurial skills that lead to self-reliance and income generation. From garment-making and beauty & wellness to digital marketing and last-mile delivery, our programs open doors to immediate employment and long-term career paths. In parallel, our environmental sustainability efforts focus on community-driven solutions such as Miyawaki forests, rainwater harvesting, and organic farming—restoring ecosystems while creating green jobs and promoting climate resilience. Our third pillar, healthcare and wellbeing, ensures access to vital health education and services. We train caregivers in home nursing, hygiene, and maternal care, while mobile health vans and preventive care workshops bring essential support to underserved areas. Together, these three pillars form a holistic ecosystem where skills, sustainability, and health work in unison to uplift lives and transform communities.
