Today, millions suffer from ignorance, illness and inequality, lacking access to the support they need. We do not accept this. We have the power to make people’s lives better and more fulfilling. Inspired by growing up in India and seeing vast inequality as well as her personal struggle with mental health issues, singer-entrepreneur Ananya Birla founded the Ananya Birla Foundation in 2020. “Growing up in India, I saw how people are hurt badly by economic, educational and income inequality and I knew it had to change. I personally suffer from depression, so mental health is something that’s very close to my heart,” notes Ananya, who has advocated globally to promote understanding and awareness of mental health issues. The Ananya Birla Foundation works with individuals and partners around the world to promote global understanding and provides support for programs that build a kinder, happier, equal, stigma-free world. To achieve our mission, the Foundation makes grants in the following areas: o Mental health o Gender equality o Financial inclusion o Education o Climate change o Humanitarian relief We also participate in campaigns and public engagements that that raise global awareness and understanding about issues we are passionate about. And, we engage activists, researchers and others to join us in action. The Ananya Birla Foundation thinks big as we work to build a kinder, happier, equal, stigma-free world.
