About ANEMIAFOCUS_project

Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) affects 25% of the global population, with significant impacts on women and children, particularly during pregnancy. Current treatments, based on artificial iron supplements, provide only temporary relief and often cause side effects, highlighting the need for safer, more effective solutions. ANEMIAFOCUS project seeks to address this challenge by leveraging the expertise of leading scientists from the USA and Serbia to validate an innovative nutraceutical rich in bioavailable iron for preventing and treating IDA. The project will conduct a human intervention study and in vitro research to confirm the formula’s efficacy and understand its molecular mechanisms. Ultimately, ANEMIAFOCUS aims to introduce a clinically validated nutraceutical that could reduce IDA prevalence globally and drive innovation in the biotech industry. ANEMIAFOCUS project is financed by The Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia via program DIASPORA2023 #fondzanauku #dijaspora2023
