ANTAEUS Team

The ANTAEUS CubeSat aims on observing the strongest gamma-ray emitters in the sky such as: neutron star merger, black hole merger, GRBs, Supernovae, Crab Nebula etc. With the help of a Cadium Telluride (CdTe) semiconductor detector, the CubeSat will be able to perform spectroscopy, imaging and polarization measurements in the 100keV-1MeV energy range. These measurements will help scientists to study the emission mechanisms and processes of such Astrophysical events. The CubeSat will be fully developed by university students, being the first space observatory developed by Portugal.
