Founded in August 2012, the Anti-Harassment Movement is a grassroots initiative committed to ending gender-based violence and advancing gender equality in Egypt. We are independent of any religious or political affiliation, united by a shared belief in human dignity and justice.

We envision a society free from the deeply rooted, destructive culture that normalizes gender-based violence. Our dream is to help build a future where dignity, equality, and safety are guaranteed for all.

Our Goals
Advocate for and contribute to the creation of legal frameworks that criminalize sexual harassment and assault in Egypt. (Our efforts helped lead to the landmark 2013 legislation)
Challenge and dismantle the societal norms that tolerate or justify gender-based violence.
Design and lead nationwide grassroots and digital advocacy campaigns against GBV.
Push for zero-tolerance policies on GBV in university campuses and other institutions.
