Antonis Papatheodoulou is a Children's Books Author based in Athens, Greece. Since 1999 he keeps writing and translating stories, songs & scripts for children. He has published more than 50 books for children. Books of Antonis have been translated to Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, Swedish, Danish, Turkish, Galician, Catalan, Basque, English, Japanese, Chinese & Korean, have been transformed into theatre & puppet theatre plays and have won several awards including two Greek State Picture Book Awards, two awards of the greek sector of the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) as well as the International Compostela Prize for picture books in 2016. Six of his books have been selected for the White Ravens list of the International Children’s Library of Munich (2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2020). Antonis has conceived and organised playful activities & projects on reading, literature and the rights of the child, in cooperation with schools, public libraries, the Hellenic Children’s Museum, METAdrasi, UNICEF and the Department for children's rights of the GREEK OMBUDSMAN. He organised the songwriting workshops on children's rights "An sas ta tragoudisoume" in collaboration with the Greek Network for the rights of the child (DDP). For 5 consecutive years, he has voluntarily been the writer of the Playmobil Play & Give books, dedicated to supporting the Bone Marrow Donor Bank "Orama Elpidas".
