Anwar Textile - Hossain Dyeing & Printing Mills Ltd

Anwar Textile is a collective name given to the textile division of Anwar Group of Industries. It comprises of five different companies: Hossain Dyeing & Printing Mills Ltd., Mehmud Industries (Pvt) Ltd., Anwar Silk Mills Ltd., Anwar Printex & Al Printex which supplement each other to create the complete textile vertical. However, its growth into one of the largest textile manufacturers in Bangladesh started humble beginnings. In 1969, the Founder Chairman of Anwar Group, Mr. Anwar Hossain established "Anwar Silk Mills Ltd". Operation commenced with 30 workers and 20 Japanese Jacquard looms making moonlight fabrics. The factory took off the ground in 1971 when they started manufacturing the famous "Mala Saree” which became a favorite of Bangladeshi women for its quality, design and price. Anwar Silk Mills Ltd. was later joined by Hossain Dyeing and Printing Mills Ltd. in 1982 and Mehmud Industries (Pvt.) Ltd. in 1996. Currently Anwar Textile takes pride in a weaving unit of more than 370 looms, a modern spinning unit with 55,776 spindles, a rotor spinning unit, a state-of-the-art dyeing-printing & finishing unit and a yarn dyeing unit. Currently Anwar Textile combinedly produces 14,600 tons of Yarn, 25 million yards of dyed fabric and dyes 3,600 tons of yarn per year. Anwar Textile’s clientele includes promising brands such as M&S, C&A, NEXT, H&M, CELIO, LINDEX, KAPPAHL, KIABI, COLES, BERSKHA, GYMBOREE, STREET ONE, and GRAY WAVER. Anwar Textile is proud to hold certifications from FDA, ISO:9001, Amfori, BCI, Higg Index, GOTS, Global Recycled Index, Recycled Claim Standard (RCS), BSCI, Organic 100 Content Standard, Social & Labor Convergence, Sedex, and Oeko-Tex. The upcoming venture of Anwar Textile is Anwar Denim Ltd.
