About Association of Physicians of GB & Ireland

The association invites scholarship around a shared vision of the value of interdisciplinary collaboration, reaching new audiences, seeking out and promoting new ways of working and encouraging translational research leading to the advancement of internal medicine and direct benefits for patients. Membership is open to all: clinicians; early career researchers; discovery scientists and industry affiliates. The AoP also has a community of distinguished elected fellows. Our annual meeting reflects our focus on interdisciplinary, translational medicine. We are aware that the solution to many of today’s research challenges lies in ideas from outside of our specialty areas, and from across disciplines. To meet leaders and talented young researchers in other fields, to hatch novel ideas and to find inspiring new collaborators, you are encouraged to attend our cross-disciplinary meeting which takes place annually across the UK. Since 1907 the Association of Physicians of Great Britain and Ireland has aimed to advance medicine “in a manner that promotes friendship amongst Physicians”. Today, we are the home of interdisciplinary translational medicine, inviting collaboration and at the cutting edge of research.
