APGDC is a Joint Venture Company between GAIL Gas Limited (a wholly owned subsidiary of GAIL (India) Ltd.), a Central Government Public Sector Enterprise (PSU) and APGIC, an Andhra Pradesh State Government Public Sector Enterprise. The objective of the company is to design and develop Natural gas supply / Distribution network systems, Gas Processing through liquefaction, re-gasification plants and to import, store, transport, distribute natural gas in the entire state of Andhra Pradesh.
The Corporation is planning to participate proactively in creation of Natural Gas Pipeline infrastructure in the State to cater to the needs of industries, power plants and CGD Networks. APGDC has been mandated to establish an LNG importation Terminal in the Coast of Andhra Pradesh so as to narrow the gap between demand and supply position. The Corporation is also participating in CGD Network business; and by doing so all the geographical areas of the State will be provided with piped domestic gas, Compressed Natural Gas for the automobiles and industries.
