At A+ Composites, we use a self-developed process to produce customized fiber-reinforced thermoplastic tapes that achieve strengths and elastic moduli of aerospace tapes, but are in the price range of the automotive industry. In addition to carbon and glass fibers, we also process plastic and LCP fibers. Plastic fibers in particular offer a tremendous opportunity to produce fiber-reinforced plastic components that are fully recyclable. If you count variations in fiber volume content, adding additives and other adjuncts, and coloring tapes, we have produced well over 200 different UD tapes since A+ Composites was founded in 2015. As sustainability is of enormous importance to us, one of our strategic focuses is to develop this technology to market maturity and establish it on the market. To achieve this goal, we are working with universities, plastics processors and fiber manufacturers. Our technology portfolio also includes further processing of the tapes into post-formable or back-moldable sheets, which are mainly used in the automotive and medical technology industries.
