APRIL Project H2020

The APRIL project (multipurpose robotics for mAniPulation of defoRmable materIaLs in manufacturing processes) will develop a new generation of robots to innovate the ways to handle flexible and deformable materials for manufacturing products in European enterprises: 1) Robots for Industry – for soft and deformable materials processing; 2) Human-Robot Interaction – in collaborative scenarios; 3) New ways of automatization – semi- or fully-automated tasks. April Project will run for a period of 40 months with a total budget of almost EUR 8 milion provided by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 framework programme for Research and Innovation (DT-FOF-12-2019: Handling systems for flexible materials, GA #870142). The project is coordinated by the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. The consortium is composed by 15 European partners from 8 EU countries.
