Aquafisk, Inc. imports the finest fresh fish from the remote, pure, icy waters of Iceland to discerning retailers and seafood wholesalers in the United States. Thanks to our dedicated in-house team, our state of the art processing facility Erik the Red Seafood, our established partnership with Icelandair, and our close proximity to Keflavik Airport, we are able to deliver the finest fish in the world perfectly. Every time. Forgoing processing machinery used by other fish importers, we hand trim all of our fish in Iceland for better yield, less waste, and finer cuts. Aquafisk is also deeply conscientious about our impact on the environment. In an effort to offset the carbon footprint of our practices, we contracted with the Iceland Carbon Fund, Kolviður who offsets the effects of carbon emissions through the planting of trees. Additionally, we ship exclusively through Icelandair Cargo, the ISO 14001 certified airline whose efforts include reducing its carbon footprint with a “continuous descent approach” decreasing fuel use and noise pollution and by optimizing storage space on all planes for maximum cargo on each flight.
