Arboreus Sustainable Forestry is actively engaged planting commercial trees and rescuing native species (wood and fruit) of the Pacific tropical forest of Colombia. Arboreus seeks seeds and plantules and uses them to reforest areas formerly used for yuca and coca plantations. We are experimenting with multi-variety lots to encourage biodiversity. Among some of the native species to date: Chalbiande (Virola dixonii), Tangare (Carapa guianensis), Jagua (Genipa Americana), Abarco (Cariniana pyriformis), Vainillo (Jacaranda Copaia) and María (Calofhyllum brasiliense).
