About Arc Capital Ventures
Experienced VC having founded and managed 3 venture funds, now investing in as well as guiding young revenue-stage companies with their fundraising. MOST COMPANIES think that all they need is a slide deck and they are off and running. That's a frustrating path when after 6, 9 or 12 months you haven't closed on the funding you are seeking. Why? 1. The STORY. Every story has a beginning and we all love to hear stories. You need to capture the listener's attention with a story that is ENGAGING. They'll remember the story while they may have forgotten your message. Remember, you aren't just raising capital; you are embarking on a 3, 5 or even 10 year relationship and you have to be someone that is LIKABLE, BELIEVABLE, and TRUSTWORTH right from the beginning. The use of superlatives more often detracts from your story and your credibility. 2. The NEED, must be COMPELLING, whether economic, revenue enhancing, health or quality of life related. 3. Your SOLUTION shouldn't be overly technical or detailed. What makes it unique? Any IP? Don't stress features but focus on BENEFITS. 4. EVIDENCE such as sales, a sales pipeline, testimonials, etc. is 10x more persuasive than your forecast. 5. Show your TEAM, with brief bios and connections to LinkedIn. 6. The FORECAST: Show Sales, Gross Margin, Expenses, & Net Profit, for five years, backed up by a detailed financial model with assumptions. 7. The 'ASK'. Don't forget to ask for the order. Describe the security being offered and the valuation (or cap). And most important, the 'DEAL!' We are all human and we like a 'deal,' yet most companies don't know how to offer this. This doesn't necessarily mean a discount and it doesn't have to be financial, but do not barter away a board seat! Lot's more to cover so if you'd like to explore this in confidence and at no cost or obligation, book a time on our Calendly link: https://calendly.com/andy-800 Also visit our affiliate at: https://brightsidevc.com/
