Architecture Program - Visual Studies - University of Karachi

Started in 1999, the Department of Visual Studies has a mission to develop a community-oriented approach in students to develop humane individuals who are socio-conscious and aware of their environment and the problems it faces. Vision: Architecture at the Department of Visual Studies envisions a future where the built environment will contribute to the well-being of the communities by ingraining sensitivity towards society for a humane future. Mission: Architecture, being one of the disciplines of the department, it strives to indoctrinate social, cultural, and environmental values apt for the built environment, in future architect, so that, through their design, they formulate environmentally and socially sound societies. The environment is a major concern worldwide as well as locally, architecture program of Visual Studies, prioritizes teaching sustainable design strategies, ensuring that students learn to respect the environment and strive for a future that has no or least possible impact on the environment.
