Arfon Timber Frames is North Wales premier green building company. We produce a carbon negative hybrid timber frame panel system; which is quite a mouthful, so for short we just call our panels "EcoSIPs". In order to reduce their carbon footprint our approach is to minimise or eliminate the use of steel, plastic and concrete in our buildings. All of our super structures, including wall, roof and floor panels are made from timber products. We use wood fibre insulation throughout our buildings. Finally, where there are large window openings, vaulted ceilings or balconies to be achieved, there won't be a steel in sight (or out of sight); instead all of these details are achieved with heavy timber sections, traditionally joined trusses and skilled craftsmanship.
We are the only passivhaus certified timber frame manufacturer situated within the "very severe wind driven rain" zone of the UK. We're uniquely aware of the challenges that face buildings in Wales and the West. Not only does our westerly rural location give us an insight into the weather our buildings will have to contend with, it also means we understand the technical difficulties of getting the buildings to site in the first instance.
