Argosy Partners was founded by Jim Ambrose and Rich Reid. Jim developed a method of completing low risk shotgun transactions within several days. He also developed ways of finding shotgun transactions from lawyers within days of execution. The Shotgun Fund combined Jim and Richard’s capital with that of some entrepreneurs and one institutional investor to invest in Shotgun, Succession and Bridge transactions through three specialized funds. Jim retired in 2013 and the Funds have since wound up. Argosy has been raising funds since then. It expects to close a new fund this year.
