Akwaaba! Herzlich Willkommen! Our education intervention program aims to empower beneficiaries with quality education towards promoting social inclusion and equal educational avenues for less endowed families who can’t afford private schools. Our project pivots towards contributing and achieving the SDG 4 and 10 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The current situation in the Kokrobite/Bortianor fishing communities in Ghana raises alarming concerns, as 1 in 8 children aged 3-16 years are dropouts or not enrolled in school. Predominant of the identified causes, is the increasing cost of education and the low-income of parents to match up. Most students from underprivileged backgrounds in Kokrobite find themselves in government-funded schools that are chronically underfunded, overcrowded classrooms, intermittent teacher strikes, lack of teaching materials, and academic calendar interruptions due to government interference. This exacerbates the socio-economic disadvantage of the parents. The existence of this issue has widened the void between other developed communities comparable to Kokrobite in terms of poverty reduction, community development, rate of teenage pregnancies and increased social vices. We believe the key to breaking this cycle is a conscious effort to provide an intensive and quality education to the next generation of young people now We run a school that provides free educational services, in our quest to challenge the inefficient systems that prevent the underprivileged from having a balanced and fair taste of economic development. Our recruitment process guides our selection of underprivileged beneficiaries. We embrace the philosophy of experiential education, which fosters child growth and natural desire for knowledge through a process “Learning through a reflection of Doing and Hands on Learning” We take pride in providing our beneficiaries an opportunity to DREAM OF BETTER FUTURE; ONE WHERE THE CAN BE WHATEVER THE WISH TO BE.
