Arise Initiative

ARISE – African Research and Innovative Initiative for Sickle Cell Education: Improving Research Capacity for Service Improvement is a research project funded by the European Union under the Horizon 2020 MSCA-RISE-2018 programme. The project aims to establish a dynamic, interagency, and multidisciplinary staff exchange programme involving experienced researchers, early-stage investigators, and other key personnel from partner institutions. Through this collaboration, ARISE seeks to share and promote best practices in newborn screening, diagnosis, and treatment of Sickle Cell Disease (SCD), ultimately enhancing research capacity and improving health outcomes for affected individuals. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No. 824021.
