About ARISE Programme
The ARISE programme enables researchers and engineers to advance technology and methods in the life sciences and trains them to lead service providing research infrastructures. Launched in 2021, as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Co-fund with EMBL, fellows are employed for three years at one of EMBL’s six sites to work on a technology or method development project of their choice. In parallel, the programme delivers a unique training curriculum that trains fellows to run services, manage teams and projects, and promote innovation. Fellows undertake secondments with industrial or academic partners to further develop their technology and gain valuable experience of how research infrastructure providers operate. The ARISE programme encompasses ARISE and ARISE2, a continuation of the original programme. ARISE2 continues to recruit fellows each year. We advocate for the development of a cohesive training programme for research infrastructure scientists in the life sciences, and the advancement of careers for researchers and engineers in research infrastructures.
