aqb is an independent art centre in Budapest, Hungary that functions as an exhibition place for contemporary art, a studio house, and an artist-in-residence program in a unique, renovated factory building, the former Haggenmacher Brewery.
Numerous Hungarian visual artists and creative enterprises found their base in the building complex.
aqb runs an international residency program, provides space for an experimental sound studio, and organizes exhibitions in its non-profit gallery, "Project Space".
aqb became an international creative community and cultural melting pot, made up of a wide variety of artists from music, applied arts, dance, and visual art scene.
We organise art events and cultural programs with a focus on our local community, and give space to local organisers to organize their own events, while also developing relationships with international networks and partners.
