ASA started its mission in 1978 with the aim to improve the life quality of the people living at the bottom of the socio-economic pyramid and establish a society free from poverty and economic disparity. Its work has expanded from Bangladesh to 13 countries. ASA believes that progress in key areas like health and education is essential for enhancing the quality of life for people.
Since 2011, ASA has focused on improving primary and secondary education through its own funding. Its goals include preparing children for school through pre-primary care, reducing dropout rates, helping children from low-income families access education, and ensuring quality education for all.
As of June 2024, ASA operates 12,514 educational centers across 850 branches, reaching 332,000 students in grades 1 and 2. Additionally, 155,000 students in grades 1 to 5 receive support through 2,963 centers in 200 branches. ASA also supports 5,419 students in grades 6 to 8 in 62 secondary schools across 60 districts. This initiative will continue to grow in 2025.
