About ASB Help
ASB Help is a charity which provides help and advice to victims of anti-social behaviour. Following such high profile cases of vulnerable victims as Fiona Pilkington from Leicester who did not receive any help from the authorities, we believe there is a clear need for coordinated information and advice which is readily accessible to those who need it. ASB Help is first and foremost an informative website which particularly focuses on equipping victims of anti-social behaviour with the necessary tools to effectively report anti-social behaviour, gather evidence, and cope with its effects. ASB Help receives data from visitors to the website on how effective they have found their local authorities and police to be in responding to reports of ASB. This is populated by an online survey and has the potential to give us a thorough understanding of good and bad examples in this field and which ultimately our visitors and people working in the sector may find useful to see. ASB Help sits on the Home Office ASB Advisory Group and is involved in a Police-led Vulnerability group looking at how agencies can ensure a victim's vulnerability is taken into account. ASB Help has done a considerable amount of research into how the Community Trigger (introduced in the 2014 Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act) is being used and promoted and seeks to share best practice to improve the potential this power has for victims to get results and respite from anti-social behaviour. No-one should have to suffer in silence. ASB Help also provides bespoke training to organisations on ASB best practices and how to use relevant tools and powers effectively.
