ASBMB is devoted to building a national community of undergraduate students and faculty members for the advancement of biochemistry and molecular biology research, education, and outreach.
The University of California, Santa Barbara's student chapter of ASBMB is dedicated to enriching the undergraduate education of UCSB students. Our main contributions include hosting lectures on current research in biochemistry and molecular biology, organizing educational workshops on important topics not traditionally covered in the undergraduate coursework, and providing students with the opportunity to exercise their creativity through collaborative projects with peers. Membership is not limited to biology, biochemistry, and chemistry students. ASBMB UCSB serves as an avenue for scholars of all academic backgrounds to contribute their skills and knowledge.
