About ASCE Alabama Section

The Alabama Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is a non-profit professional organization representing over 1,600 Civil Engineers and civil engineering students throughout the great state of Alabama. Established in 1932 with 40 members, the Alabama Section consists of six Branches; Birmingham, Dothan, Huntsville, Mobile, Montgomery, and Tuscaloosa, three Younger Member Group for engineers under the age of 35 years, Technical Committees, Program Committees, and six Student Chapters at the Auburn University, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the University of Alabama at Huntsville, the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa, Alabama A&M University and University of South Alabama. The Alabama Section resides in Region 5 along with the Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi sections. The Section provides its membership with professional and technical opportunities to advance the science and profession of civil engineering. Our organization provides programs and opportunities for the community, educators and students to learn about the Civil Engineering profession.
