The ASEAN Federation of Textile Industries (AFTEX), founded in 1977, represents the interests of Southeast Asia’s textile and apparel manufacturers. AFTEX develops positions on trade policies, promotes intra-ASEAN trade in textiles and apparel, and raises the profile of the region’s garment industry. Additionally, AFTEX convenes biannual meetings, rotating the chairmanship among ASEAN member countries during these gatherings.
