Association for Social Health in India (ASHI), is a voluntary and social organization, aiming at challenging those conditions that lead to exploitation of women and children for anti-social purposes. ASHI, Haryana is registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 and Justice Juvenile Act of 2016. The Board of Management is constituted of Volunteers.
The projects undertaken by ASHI, Haryana are:
1) Ashiana Children’s Home - Established to provide shelter to children covered under Juvenile Justice Act 2016, facilitating them with boarding & lodging, education, recreation, medical care and holistic development.
2) Ananda Shiksha - A ‘Morning/After School Support Program’, catering to academic curriculum, grooming & nurturing and overall personality development of the children through computer learning, art & craft, yoga, theatre, dance, music, grooming workshops, counseling and spiritual inputs.
It encompasses four projects:
• Shubharambh - A Bridge School to make children from slums ready for formal education
• Computer Learning Centre (CLC)
• Afternoon Support School
• Sachet - Spreading awareness against social evils
3) Navchetna - A skill development programme for women, including cutting & tailoring, knitting, beauty & wellness, mehandi art, candle and paper products making. ASHI, Haryana also conducts counseling sessions and periodic workshops on health & nutrition for these women.
4) Srijan Bharat and Outreach Program - A rural children development programme under which ASHI, Haryana adopted schools in Thapli and Mandhna villages, Morni block and Panchkula. They have also established play-way school for brick kiln workers in Kakkar Majra, dist. Ambala.
5) Unnat Shiksha - An outreach programme that aims to provide scholarships to students for higher education.
6) Swavlamban - A project that provides interest-free loans to students for their career advancement.
At few places, milk and snacks are also provided to students by ASHI Haryana.
