ASI Audax

The name Audax comes from the Latin « audacious », and ASI Audax-Friûl did not stole the appellation. Founded in 1936 by Italian migrants from Neuchâtel under the name of Football Club Ecluse, it allowed foreign Italian workers to confront their sports talent to other local players affirming their identity at the same time. Besides the sports performances, it is a true link of sharing between both communities that built up themselves throughout the encounters. A beautiful lesson of integration and tolerance which was moreover rewarded in 2008 by the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) underlining the commitment of the president of the club, Roger Maffioli, in favour of the integration of the Italian community in Neuchâtel. A few decades later, ASI Audax can be proud to count among its members, young people from all origins and social classes. Currently considered as the second club of the town, behind Neuchâtel Xamax FCS, the Italian sportive association evolves in Neuchâtel’s 2nd regional league and includes a juniors section and a women section jointly with Neuchâtel Xamax FCS.
