In 1932, Demir Çelik San. ve Tic. Inc, it started its industrial and commercial life as a small family business with the repair and manufacture of horse-drawn carriages and later the manufacture of agricultural machinery. Today, Askon serves as one of the most advanced Steel Service Centers of our country with a total of nearly 450 employees at 5 different facilities in Turkey and a location in the USA in its 90th year. Using wear plates, high strength steels and special/commercial quality steels, Askon Demir has become an important international solution partner with its nearly a century of experience and reliability in meeting the mechanical/component sheet metal fabrication needs of OEM and end users in the domestic and foreign markets. Professionalizing Family-Company relations and applying corporate governance principles with the Family Constitution signed in 2021, Askon Demir plans to reach over 550 employees by mid-2023 with investments in facility, new generation machinery, technology and business model. In its production journey approaching a century, Askon Demir was selected as the Happy Place To Work in its industry in 2022, which started the digital transformation process with a focus on questioning-learning-adaptation-continuous development-value creation and stakeholder satisfaction and with a focus on Industry 4.0, prioritized traceability and efficiency. Askon Demir exports to 21 countries in 5 continents in its flagship heavy industry manufacturing group, and e-exports to 65 countries in 6 continents with the Artepera and Wall Art Istanbul decoration products brands it created in 2018. Askon Demir, who became a KALDER member in 2020 and started the National Quality Movement in the same year, focuses on sustainability, employer branding, branding, reputation management, robotic processes and automations, digitalization, efficiency, traceability, operational excellence and green transformation at the center of the 2023-2025 Strategic Action Plan.
