ASME (founded in 1880 as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers) is a not-for-profit professional organization that enables collaboration, knowledge sharing and skill development across all engineering disciplines, while promoting the vital role of the engineer in society. ASME codes and standards, publications, conferences, continuing education and professional development programs provide a foundation for advancing technical knowledge and a safer world.
We are spearheading the formation of an ASME section in Egypt. ASME-Egypt helps ASME members, engineers and engineering students in Egypt share their expertise, develop their skills and potentials and achieve progress with their careers.
The importance of an ASME's Senior Section in Egypt:
- For industry, the availability of ASME training courses and technical conferences in Egypt was emphasized.
- For Academia, the importance to host more of local and international events and competitions was emphasized.
- For students' sections, they feel frustrated with the low profile Egypt's students section get, especially with no Senior Section existing and therefore the absence of the support and a representative of their voice in the regional leadership. This limit their ability to attend/organize many of the regional/ events as a result of lack of funding and support
