We are Aspyro, a startup company that wants to improve happiness by developing innovatie medical devices. Our first product are the Oxy-glasses, 3D printed glasses for oxygen users. They solve multiple problems related to oxygen therapy that is used to treat patients with severe COPD, pulmonary fibrosis and other respiratory diseases.
Oxygen therapy makes the disease visible (e.g. COPD), thereby creating a stigma. Furthermore the nasal cannula leaves marks, causes irritation on ears and cheeks and easily slips out of the nose. Oxy-glasses are 3D printed glasses that have a groove inside the frame in which the nasal cannula can be inserted. This makes oxygen therapy barely invisble, reduces irritation and prevents the cannula from slipping out of the nose. The aim is that this stimulates patients to exercise more, have more social contacts and be more therapy compliant.
