About Us Assisting Hands Home Care® grew out of a desire to provide seniors, and others needing non-medical assistance at home, with the option that most people prefer – to remain independent, safe and comfortable in their own homes. Assisting Hands® is a home care franchise company that emphasizes exceptional customer service and highly personalized in-home care to meet the needs of our clients. The Owner Alison Shearer’s journey to becoming the owner of Assisting Hands Home Care – Lombard, Addison, Elmhurst & Surrounding Areas, has been a culmination of lifelong experiences that have uniquely prepared her for this role. From a young age, as the eldest of five children, Alison learned the importance of family and caregiving through regular visits with her grandparents and great grandparents. These visits were not just about spending time together but were crucial in instilling the values of attention, physical contact, and the essential lesson that senior family members should always be remembered and cherished. This early exposure to the value of extended family and the significance of caring for elderly relatives laid the foundation for Alison’s path in the caregiving sector.
