AT4D (Assistive Technologies for Disability Trust) is Africa’s leading disability innovation organization, focused on startup and inclusive innovation ecosystem development. It is a legacy organization of the Innovate Now Accelerator project, extending its work for long-term impact, leading assistive technology innovation in Africa into the future. AT4D emerged from the backdrop of Innovate Now’s early success: impacting 100+ entrepreneurs and accelerating 45 startups to market, reaching AT innovators across 11 countries: Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, South Africa, Botswana, Nigeria, Egypt, Tunisia, USA, and UK in only 4 years. AT4D accelerates access to lifechanging, affordable, and high-quality assistive technology that persons with disabilities need to participate fully and equally in society. Through an inclusive disability innovation ecosystem, AT4D enables the development, testing, launching, and scaling assistive technology innovationsAT4D backs AT startups founders with a comprehensive ecosystem of support with access to AT entrepreneurship and innovation education, coaching, mentoring and access to funding. AT4D partners strategically with governments, corporates, academia, private and public sector players to enhance evidence, policy, and sustainability for disability inclusion.
