In 2005, Keith “Parker” Tibbetts Jr., Steve Bain, and Keith P. Tibbetts III got together to form AI Rentals, which is today, a fully diversified rental company providing solutions for the Cayman Islands. Back then, the need within Cayman’s ever growing construction industry for a small tool and equipment rental company was clear. They purchased some scaffolding and Wacker Neuson construction equipment which they got through their connection with Ace Hardware (at Parker’s), and the three were on their way. Business really got going in late September 2005 when people saw them unloading their 40’ container of Wacker products. “They were literally coming up asking us if they could rent that item… Now!” the gentlemen recall, “The business grew by leaps and bounds after that!” In December 2005, Keith decided to take their service offering further by purchasing a small amount of DJ equipment to rent to their existing Tool & Equipment division clients. These clients were already renting Generators, Temporary Fencing, and Barricades to service the Party and Event industry, so DJ Equipment was a natural progression. Parker gave the nod, and this expanded service quickly blossomed into rentals of staging, concert grade sound systems, concert lighting, tables, chairs, tents, portable air conditioning units, decorations and pipe and draping. By June of 2006, they expanded into the heavy equipment rental business, having the largest inventory of boom lifts, tele-handlers, and forklifts in the rental industry. Before they realized it, they had customers coming to them for complete turn-key event management projects, and this is where they are today. Associated Industries Ltd is a group of companies owned by Keith “Parker” Tibbetts Jr, and managed by General Manager Steve Bain and Assistant General Manager Keith P. Tibbetts III.
